Blatant Consumerism
These days we are constantly under an introduction to an endless stream of new products and services. It is nearly impossible to separate the dishonest claims from the facts. Fortunately, in the world of blogging, we have independent opinions from real people that have no stake in whether or not you try this product or try that product. I see alot more negative reviews than positive ones nowadays. The hyped up versions or false claims generally fall fast in the blogoshere. The sharing of information has reached a level that is unprecedented by any standards. Sure, we read reviews on products online and usually make a decision on the spot whether to try it or not. Those bloggers who are pleased will write a positive review. Those that are displeased; well they can be downright brutal. But hey, those are the consequences. Do we really know who to trust? I tried this new product for people with hairloss called provillus. I found that it worked well for me. However, I consequently found negative reviews on it as well as positive ones. By the same token, I also tried some products based on blogger rants that failed to perform as advertised, and yet I found no negative reviews in the blog realm. My friend and neighbor had a similar experience with online product promotion. In the last several months, she has purchased 3 different products online and is only happy with the results of 2 of those 3. She has found a powerful remedy for hot flashes and a new cellulite cream that worked great. Perhaps society has become too commercialized and too gullible. Thank the Heavens we have our blogger friends that can help separate fact from fiction.
